Instructions for Use

Before first use, take time to familiarize yourself with the Ridge Everyday Folder, including its lock mechanism, blade movement, and pocket clip.

Opening the Ridge Everyday Folder

1. Ensure your hands and fingers are clear of the blade's path.
2. Pinch both sides of the lock bar using your thumb and index finger.
3. Pull the lock bar toward you to disengage the mechanism.
4. While holding the lock, rotate the blade open using your wrist until it clicks into the locked position.

Closing the Ridge Everyday Folder

1. Keep fingers clear of the blade's folding path.
2. Pinch and pull the lock bar again to release the lock.
3. Carefully fold the blade back into the handle.
4. Release the lock to keep it securely closed.

Sharpening the Ridge Everyday Folder

• Keep the blade sharp to reduce the risk of slipping.
• Use a whetstone or quality sharpening tool for best results.
• Avoid oversharpening or using improper angles.
• For minor edge maintenance, a compact sharpening tool is suitable. Note: Sharpening tools are not included.

Handling Best Practices

• Control the blade: Keep fingers away from the blade's path at all times, including during opening, closing, and use.
• Confirm the lock: Always verify the lock is fully engaged before beginning any cutting task.
• Grip firmly: Maintain a secure grip on the handle. Use gloves or protective eyewear when working in demanding conditions.
• Cut safely: Always cut away from your body and keep your free hand well clear of the blade's path.
• Avoid excess force: Let the blade do the work. Applying excessive force increases the risk of slipping and injury.
• Stay alert: Never use the Ridge Everyday Folder when fatigued, distracted, or impaired.

Maintenance & Storage

• Keep out of reach of children, vulnerable persons, and unauthorized users at all times.
• Clean after every use, particularly if exposed to dirt, moisture, food, or other debris. Wipe the blade dry to prevent corrosion.
• Lubricate pivot points regularly with a suitable knife oil to ensure smooth, reliable operation.
• Inspect regularly for wear, blade play, or loose screws. Discontinue use immediately if any issue is found and contact Ridge Support.
• Store the Ridge Everyday Folder folded or in a sheath, case, or secure compartment with the lock engaged.
• Avoid storing in extreme heat, cold, or humid environments, which can degrade the blade and handle over time.

Safety Guidelines

Children & Vulnerable Persons: The Ridge Everyday Folder is not intended for use by children or persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities. This product is intended for adults 18 years of age or older. Keep out of reach of children and vulnerable persons. The Ridge Everyday Folder is a sharp instrument and poses a significant risk of cuts, lacerations, and serious injury if handled by children or persons who cannot safely manage or operate the product. Adult supervision is required when the product is present near children or vulnerable persons.

Disassembly & Modifications: Do not disassemble or modify the Ridge Everyday Folder, as doing so may void the warranty and increase the risk of injury. If repair is needed, contact Ridge Support. Do not use the Ridge Everyday Folder as a pry bar, hammer, or throwing implement.

Damage & Misuse: Do not use the Ridge Everyday Folder if the blade, lock mechanism, or handle is visibly damaged, cracked, or compromised. Misuse, dropping, or applying excessive lateral force may result in malfunction, blade failure, or injury. The Ridge Everyday Folder is intended only for cutting, slicing, and light fieldwork such as cutting cord, food prep, and light outdoor tasks. It is not designed for heavy-duty or industrial use. If in doubt, stop use and contact Ridge Support.

Blade Handling & Cutting Safety: Always confirm the crossbar lock is fully engaged before cutting. Cut away from your body and keep your free hand clear of the blade's path. Never attempt to catch a falling Ridge Everyday Folder. Use appropriate cutting surfaces and avoid using the blade on materials it is not designed for, such as hardened metal, bone, or wire. Never force the blade through tough or resistant materials; if the material requires excessive pressure, it is not suitable for this tool.

Storage & Environmental Exposure: Store the Ridge Everyday Folder folded and locked in a sheath, case, or secure compartment. When carrying the Ridge Everyday Folder, always use the deep-carry pocket clip or a protective case. Do not carry it loosely in a pocket, bag, or pack. Keep away from extreme heat, moisture, and corrosive substances. Do not expose the blade to open flame. Prolonged exposure to moisture without proper drying and lubrication may cause corrosion and reduce blade performance.

It is your sole responsibility to understand and comply with all applicable laws regarding the carry, transport, and use of the Ridge Everyday Folder. Ridge disclaims all liability for unlawful use of the Ridge Everyday Folder.

Standard Lifetime Warranty

Ridge warrants your Ridge Everyday Folder against defects in materials and workmanship for the lifetime of the original purchaser. This warranty applies only to products purchased from Ridge or authorized retailers.

This Standard Lifetime Warranty applies in addition to, and does not affect, any rights you may have under applicable consumer protection laws.

Warranty Exclusions

This warranty does not cover:

• Ridge Everyday Folders purchased from unauthorized sellers, including but not limited to Facebook Marketplace and eBay
• Products that were not manufactured by Ridge
• Complimentary products received through promotional activities
• Products with altered, defaced, or removed serial numbers, or that have been materially altered by an unauthorized third party prior to sale
• Damage resulting from unauthorized modifications, disassembly, or repairs performed after purchase
• Lost, stolen, or disposed-of products
• Damage resulting from accidents, abuse, neglect, shock, or improper use or storage
• Damage caused by failure to follow the safety and care instructions above
• Damage from vandalism, fire, flood, or other external causes
• Normal wear and tear
• Cosmetic damage that does not affect functionality (scratches, dents, discoloration, etc.)
• Damage sustained outside the reasonable lifespan of the product

Warranty Claims Process

To submit a warranty claim:

1. Visit Ridge Support
2. Provide proof of purchase and requested information
3. Describe the defect with photos if possible
4. Ridge will respond within four business days with next steps

Response Time: Most warranty claims are processed within 5–7 business days.

Legal Terms & Limitations

Remedy Limitation: Ridge's sole obligation under this warranty is to replace defective products at Ridge's discretion. This warranty is your exclusive remedy for product defects.

Liability Limitation: To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Ridge disclaims liability for damages arising from misuse, abuse, unauthorized modification, or failure to follow instructions. EXCEPT AS EXPRESSLY PROVIDED IN THE STANDARD LIFETIME WARRANTY ABOVE, RIDGE DISCLAIMS ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ridge and its affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from: misuse, mishandling, or unauthorized modification of the product; improper use, storage, or disposal; failure to follow safety or care instructions; or loss or theft of property. Ridge's total liability for any claims related to the Ridge Everyday Folder shall not exceed the original purchase price of the product. Nothing in this document excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including liability for personal injury caused by a manufacturing defect.

This limited warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may have other rights which vary by jurisdiction. Ridge's liability is limited to repair or replacement of defective products at Ridge's discretion. Some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on implied warranties or liability, so the above limitations may not apply to you.
